This is an exuberantly carved edifice built by Ahom king Rudra Singha (CE 1696-1714). It is dedicated to the name of the architect ‘Ghanashyam’ who built the masonry buildings, temples and other structures at Joysagar locality. The monument is made of brick masonry
It is rectangular in plan resembling a gate house. Islamic architectural influence can be seen on the arches of the door openings. The roof of the monument is flat. There is a small verandah in front of the structure. External walls are richly decorated with terracotta works comprising of trellis, creepers, flowers, gods, goddesses and mythological scenes of epics.
